At OTR Health & Wellness, we provide a private, individualized environment where women can discuss concerns involving sexual wellness and learn about available options.
Depending on your individual needs and goals, OTR offers sexual-wellness services that may include platelet-rich plasma (PRP) procedures such as the O-Shot®.
Not every treatment is appropriate for every patient, and individual results vary.

The O-Shot®
A PRP-Based Women’s Sexual-Wellness Procedure
The O-Shot® is a proprietary sexual-wellness procedure involving platelet-rich plasma, or PRP.
PRP is prepared from a patient’s own blood. After blood is collected, it is processed to concentrate platelets within a portion of the patient’s plasma. The resulting PRP is then administered as part of the procedure.
Some women pursue PRP-based sexual-wellness procedures for concerns involving sexual function, sensitivity, lubrication, or stress urinary leakage.
Evidence regarding PRP for these applications remains limited and continues to evolve.
The O-Shot® is not FDA-approved to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent female sexual dysfunction, low libido, difficulty achieving orgasm, vaginal dryness or vaginal atrophy, urinary incontinence, pain or discomfort during sexual activity, or other medical conditions.
No particular improvement or outcome can be guaranteed.
Why Do Women Consider the O-Shot®?
Sexual wellness is highly individual. Women may experience changes in sexual function or comfort for many different reasons.

Changes in Sexual Sensation

Urinary symptoms can have multiple causes and may require additional evaluation. The O-Shot® is not FDA-approved to treat urinary incontinence.
What Should I Expect?
The process begins with a consultation and appropriate evaluation.
This gives you an opportunity to discuss your concerns, medical history, goals, expectations, and questions with an OTR healthcare professional.
If an O-Shot® procedure is considered appropriate, your provider will explain the procedure, potential risks, limitations, alternatives, and what you may experience during and after treatment.
Because PRP is prepared from the patient’s own blood, the procedure uses an autologous biologic material. This does not mean the procedure is risk-free.

Is the O-Shot® Right for Me?
There is no single sexual-wellness procedure that is appropriate for every woman.
Symptoms involving sexual function, vaginal comfort, libido, urinary leakage, or pelvic health may have different causes and may warrant different approaches.
An OTR healthcare professional can discuss your concerns and determine whether the O-Shot® may be an option to consider or whether another evaluation or treatment approach may be more appropriate.
Requesting the O-Shot® does not guarantee that the procedure will be recommended or performed.
Setting Realistic Expectations
OTR believes patients should have realistic expectations before choosing an elective sexual-wellness procedure.
Research involving PRP for women’s sexual wellness continues to develop, and available evidence does not establish that every patient will experience a benefit.
OTR does not guarantee:
Increased libido or sexual desire
Increased sensitivity
Stronger or more frequent orgasms
Improved vaginal lubrication
Resolution of vaginal dryness
Resolution of pain or discomfort during sexual activity
Improvement or resolution of urinary incontinence
Permanent or lasting results

Radial Acoustic Pressure-Wave Therapy
OTR Health & Wellness offers noninvasive radial acoustic pressure-wave therapy as a sexual-wellness service. The technology delivers acoustic pressure waves externally to targeted areas during treatment.
Radial acoustic pressure-wave technology differs from focused low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave therapy (Li-ESWT) used in some clinical research. Evidence regarding acoustic-wave approaches for sexual wellness continues to evolve, and results from studies involving one technology or treatment protocol should not automatically be applied to another.
